Ante Natal Ultrasound
As a part of the ante natal check up protocol, USG is done at diagnosis of pregnancy followed by one at 20-24 weeks for foetal anomaly scan and one at 32-34 weeks for foetal well being. Your doctor may also want another scan at 38 weeks depending on other factors.
These scans are a good opportunity for you to take a look at your developing baby. You will cherish these pictures for a long time.
During each scan, the sonologist will look for the orientation and heart sounds of your baby. The sonologist will also measure the length of your baby, head circumference, femur length and umbilical artery blood flows.
After each of this scans you should receive a report which should contain the gestational age of the baby and other relevant information for your gynaecologist.
